Travel Sentry celebrated its 10th Annual Lock Manufacturer meeting this year and enjoyed hosting it with industry leaders in Dali, Yunnan. It was the first time we hosted a 2-day event. Day 1 was the annual conference, which was held to share industry information and showcase the progress made by Travel Sentry and Its partners in various fields. On day 2, we invited our licensees to enjoy the landmarks and natural beauty of Dali together.
Day 1:
At the conference, Tim Meade, COO, summarised our results over the past year. Operating in now nearly 70 countries and over 750 airports globally, our customer base expanded by 10% in 2023. He was also happy to announce that 7 new countries, including Australia, Vietnam, and Indonesia, have started using the Travel Sentry system in 2023.
CFO Yves Perrenoud presented the latest IATA report in detail, showing that global travel continues to recover. One key data point is that the number of passengers in 2040, compared with 2019, will increase by 3.9 billion passengers.
Our marketing efforts, led by CMO Maya Hall, have significantly boosted brand awareness. Our social media presence now has a following of 43,000, with our annual EU & US campaigns reaching 28 million views, and our collaborative summer campaign with Tmall in China achieved 100 million exposures.
The Travel Sentry China sales team took the opportunity to share the business results and industry trends at home and abroad. We looked at a sales analysis of luggage factories in China, an overall profile of the Indian luggage market, a trends summary of luggage factories in Southeast Asia, and the progress of Travel Sentry's travel accessories project.
Travel Sentry IP protection lawyer Kevin Jinwen discussed our efforts to protect our System. He emphasized priorities, including ongoing trademark protection, legal action against unauthorized lock sales, and actively cracking down on false advertising of platform products.
Turning to our ongoing sustainability projects at the conference, Wanyu Song, a CDP Project Representative from Taiwan, presented the progress of the Carbon Disclosure Project to us.
It was great to reward 2 of our partners: 1. YiFeng Manufacturing with the sustainable sales award for selling over 100,000 environmentally friendly locks; 2: Guangdong Jingyu Precision Industrial Co., Ltd successfully won our Sustainability Award for creating a GRS-compliant lock design.
Day 2:
The second day of the Lock Manufacturer Meeting was a group activity in Dali, Yunnan, combining sightseeing and team building. See the video.
The morning started with a peaceful ascent via the Cangshan Ropeway. Participants enjoyed a cable car ride through a sea of trees, ascending the mountain up to 2,500m altitude to embark on the Cangshan Mountain Walk, which offered the most breathtaking views. After descending, our attendees had the opportunity to explore Dali's historical landmarks.
The journey continued along the shores of Erhai Lake, where the Travel Sentry team and licensees enjoyed more sightseeing in an open observation car. Here, our licensees could enjoy the views, discuss future projects, and have the chance to have a relaxing drink and some karaoke!
In the afternoon, we engaged in team-building activities that involved playing traditional games. Our surroundings emphasized the importance of sustainability in the industry, resonating with our ongoing philanthropic projects and goal of creating a greener future.
Day 2 of the Lock Manufacturer Meeting was memorable and productive, hopefully leaving our partners inspired and more closely connected.
We are thankful for the continued support of our partners and to all who joined us in Dali and contributed to the success of this event.
